Team Manager (Child Therapist)

Salary: Actual Pay: £24,273.84 (inclusive of paid holiday) paid equally on a monthly basis over 12 months. Equivalent of £35,000 full time salary | Location: Hackney, London

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential to join our Schools Programme.

In the role of Team Manager, you will draw on your experience as a qualified therapist alongside your excellent organisational and relationship management skills to effectively coordinate and lead the service, working flexibly and responsively within your school. You will be the bridge between the service and the school, working closely with the school’s staff (e.g. senior leadership, teachers, safeguarding leads, inclusion team etc) and attending multi-agency meetings.

Your responsibilities will include managing referrals and assessments, liaising with parents and carers, maintaining accurate records, and monitoring and evaluating the impact of the service. You would also deliver some short-term 1-1 and/or group interventions, lunchtime clubs and ‘Speak UP’ within your school and, one day per week, you would deliver 1-1 therapy to children in a different school to maintain your clinical practice.

Hours: Part Time, 4 days (30 hours + unpaid breaks). Term-time only (40 weeks)

The Corner School

A special independent primary school for children with social, emotional and mental health needs. We work closely with local authorities to ensure that we can provide exceptional provision to children who require intensive, high quality specialist support to make excellent progress. It is our belief and mission that every child can learn and enjoy a fulfilling school life, regardless of their social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Schools Programme

A therapy service in primary schools across 5 London Boroughs. This service aims to ensure that children who have social, emotional or mental health needs, have access to trainee and qualified professionals to provide timely support.  Clients are aged between 4 – 11 years old, and are referred to our service by their school. We offer brief and long-term work, and also provide support for parents and carers.

Roundwood School and Community Centre

An Alternative Provision for secondary school age children with an onsite community centre, based in Harlesden, Brent, which opened in Jan 2021.  UP provides a Integrated Youth Offer that comprises therapy, mentoring family support work and employability support for our older young people.
