Speech and Language Therapy
At Unlocking Potential
Our work involves assessing and providing individual/group therapy to children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and support for their parents and teachers.
Children with SLCN needs such as:
– Social communication difficulties
– Language and phonological delay or more persistent disorders such as Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
– Stammering and selective mutism
SaLT can work with parents and schools to provide a more communication-friendly environment which will support a child’s access to learning and social activities.
In developing communication skills such as vocabulary, narrative, conversation, turn-taking, following instructions and fluency.
Helping children with critical communication difficulties can support them to better engage in their learning, have healthy social relationships and develop self-confidence, ultimately increasing their life chances from a young age.
